January: Kick Off the Year with Restoration on the Green River
Join REI and local Steward Chris for a fresh start to the year along the Green River Trail! We’ll spend the morning restoring salmon habitat by removing invasive blackberry and bindweed, making room for young native plants to thrive. Every native tree and shrub planted helps shade the river, cool the water, and improve conditions for salmon and wildlife.
Did you know? The Green–Duwamish River once flowed wild from the Cascade Mountains to Elliott Bay, sustaining salmon runs that supported Coast Salish peoples for thousands of years.
All ages welcome. Tools and training provided—bring your energy, curiosity, and a picnic to enjoy after!
