Join us for an educational tree walk to celebrate Earth Month! Maya Klem will lead the walk and talk about different types of native trees, how they support wildlife and why it is important to have a diverse palette of trees in a green space. Some of the trees you will see at Duwamish Hill Preserve will be a a Madrone grove, Willows, Cottonwoods and Big Leaf Maples.

Participating in the City Nature Challenge? This is a great way to bring a phone and snap photos of wildlife and plants. Make sure to download the INaturalist app and find the City Nature Challenge for the event. Maya Klem participates in the event and can help with identifing native plants and wildlife for the challenge. Learn more about the challenge at: click here

This will be a slow-paced walk around the trails at the Duwamish Hill Preserve. The walk will include walking up a slope and on uneven ground.

Participants will learn about the trees at the Duwamish Hill Preserve and have opportunities to ask any questions about the trees and plants at the park.


This opportunity does not count for volunteer hours for community service.
